FAQs

CAN WE DRINK ON THE JQ PLAN
You can have alcohol, the drier the drink the better because it contains less sugar. We have a whole section on the website under the GOING OUT SECTION that explains all the best drinks in detail. Of course the more alcohol you consume on a regular basis, the more you slow your results down
CAN WE SNACK IN BETWEEN MEALS
Snacking leads to more hunger cravings. We supply 3 wholesome meals a day that will help bring cravings down and will make you feel full for longer. Snacking will also increase insulin levels which will lead to more fat storage.
CAN WE USE SWEETENERS IN OUR HOT DRINKS
Sweeteners are very unhealthy and should be avoided at all cost. You can use xylitol which is the only recommended type of sugar or stevia. Xylitol is the best choice, stevia has a bit of an after taste
WHAT DRINKS ARE WE ALLOWED
Water will always be the best choice to achieve amazing results and is really the only thing we should be drinking as human beings. You can also drink green tea, normal tea and coffee. Too much caffeine can slow down results because it can increase cortisol levels which is the stress hormone and that can hold back body fat. Too many decaffeinated drinks are also not advisable. I enjoy squeezing fresh lemon juice into my water for a bit of flavour
DO I NEED TO EAT ALL 3 MEALS A DAY
No you don't, only eat when hungry and you can eat as many meals as you want in a day, as long as it doesn't go over 3 meals and as long as you feel good within yourself
WILL I LOSE WEIGHT EVERY WEEK
Everyone loses weight differently but it's impossible to lose weight every week but your body will reduce it's fat regularly if you stick to the plan. Focus more on the dress sizes, measurements and body fat % rather being too concerned with the scales. The scales might stand still sometimes but you'll still be getting smaller and smaller because of your body fat reducing
WHY EAT A HIGHER FAT INTAKE
When you eat low fat food it's normally filled preservatives, additives and hidden sugar. It leads to more hunger cravings, you eat more and end up storing more fat. Fat keeps us full, it's also not dangerous as long as you eat quality, not cheap food.
WILL THIS WAY OF EATING INCREASE MY CHOLESTEROL LEVELS
Cholesterol has always been a big talking point but is not the dangerous factor we thought it was. In this video THE CHOLESTEROL MYTH (https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=the+cholesterol+myth the top experts will explain in detail why cholesterol is extremely important for human health
CAN WE EAT FRUIT
Fruit is referred to as Nature's Candy. Fruit contains fructose which is still a sugar and when you eat too much sugar you will struggle to lose the extra body fat. Try to limit your fruit intake for the best results. Best things to eat is blackberries, raspberries and blueberries

WHY DO SOME PEOPLE GET HEADACHES IN THE FIRST FEW DAYS ON A LOW CARB MEAL PLAN
Depending on how much sugar or carbohydrates you have been consuming for the last few months or even years in your life, you might be lucky and not experience any sugar withdrawal symptoms but most people do feel it in the first few days. It should pass within a few days and there are a few ways of getting rid of it. Drink 1/2 teaspoon of sea or Himalayan salt in water, consume avocado, spinach or mushrooms with some of the same salt over the top and it should help get rid of headaches and tiredness. Also make sure you consume a bit more water to help not feeling dehydrated
DOES PORTION SIZE MATTER
Portion sizes are always important because no food is unlimited. You cannot just eat as much as you want, your body only needs a certain amount of nutrients to function properly
CAN I EAT PORRIDGE
After years of helping people on the low carbohydrate meal plan, I have realised that even porridge can hold back fat burning results because it's classed as a grain that's not recommended. Some people can eat grains and still lose fat but if you are already someone that struggles to lose fat, no matter how hard you train then I wouldn't advise having it
CAN I USE HONEY
Honey contains a lot of sugar and once again, if you struggle losing fat easily then I wouldn't recommend it
CAN WE EAT ANY SAUSAGES
I asked my butcher to make me my own specific sausages by using no binding ingredients, no additives and no preservatives, mine only contains, grass fed meat, fat, herbs, salt and pepper. A lot of sausages that are sold as organic might just mean that the meat might be organic but the rest of the ingredients in the sausages aren't natural or healthy. Most sausage packages show 97% pork or lamb and that means there are other bits that's been added in
DO I ALWAYS HAVE TO EAT THIS WAY
Yes it's important that people always eat as healthy as possible, if most people goes back to consuming a lot of sugar and carbohydrates then they almost immediately start gaining fat again. This is a good sign that proves, eating that way just doesn't work
CAN I DRINK CORDIAL/SQUASH OR ZERO SUGAR FIZZY OR NON FIZZY DRINKS
These drinks have never been healthy and should not be consumed on a regular basis for optimum health
DO I NEED TO EAT MORE IF I TRAIN MORE
Most people should never consume more food when training harder. If more food is consumed and the individual still continues to see results and feels good with good health then it's not a problem. Still this doesn't mean that the amount of food is unlimited, only a small amount of vegetables or protein should be added onto each required meal
WILL I NOT RUN OUT OF ENERGY IF I DON'T EAT CARBOHYDRATES
This is one of the biggest issues for most people who don't really understand the science of the body. When you eat a lower amount of carbohydrates, you teach your body to start burning it's own fat for fuel rather than you having to fuel it all the time with food. It's all part of giving your body time to adapt to a new way of eating and it does get easier and better if you stay consistent and don't dip in and out of your meal plan
